NEW YEARS!?!....looking ahead...not behind.
Well E-Shop Fam...'09 is soon OUT and 2010 "starts it all over again". What are your New Year goals? Whatever they are remember...FOCUS. YYYesss!! it is a hard thing to do but neccessary...especially now. We have sooooo many distractions and we WASTE toooo much time and positive energy, focusing on all the wrong people, situations, THINGS!!! stop it...Stop It...STOP IT NOW. Take time out daily, hourly, minutely to uplift yourself, to move"self" in a new direction, to bulid a stronger mind & body.
Don't make it "be about the other person". Only YOU should be controlling U!!! YOU should be "pushing your buttons"...NOT someone else. I have found out (and learned the hhhard way) that it does not matter what you say, how you say it, or who you say it to...people (ESPECIALLY those that call you their FRIENDS), believe what they want to believe about you... and/or what they have told themselves. How nice/comforting it would be if people hear what you say instead of ASSUMING what your are saying or mis/reinterpretating what you've said. TAKE THE TIME TO FIND...LIKE MINDED PEOPLE. Yes they are out here..."they just take longer to find because they are looking for you too and your paths must cross in order to find each other."
"On this ROAD called LIFE...there can/will be stops along the way. Make sure to STOP not STAY...unless it's the place YOU can call home.
SK!

Blk & White photography is my "all time" favorite. For me the colors (or non-colors) creates...mystery...intrigue...fantasy.

ArT BaSEL/Design Miami info & THE WYNWOOD WALLS photos finally!!!
I heard there are now 19 simultaneous art events (photography + *Design Miami)in Miami, orbiting around the main event, Art Basel Miami. The eight year old, spin-off of the original, Swiss art fair, which is now 40 years old, has become an enormous event—a weeklong migration of the art world. Thousands of cultural nomads descend upon Miami and Miami Beach, buying, selling, and ogling art. The main fair is said to generate more than a quarter billion dollars in sales, and there are 250-plus exhibitors.
*Design Miami is where international design galleries present curated exhibitions of museum-quality furniture, lighting and objets d’art, attracting the highest level of private and public collectors of historical and contemporary design. The galleries invited to exhibit in Design Miami deal mainly in exceptional design objects from the advent of Modernism (circa 1900) to the present day, with select galleries specializing in outstanding 18th and 19th century antiques. Design Miami favors objects that contribute to the discourse of design history, vanguard contemporary culture and sophisticated design collecting.

ART BASEL.....MIAMI
Today kicks off Art Basel "the" art event of the season, here in the "Magic City". I'm floating in and out of galleries soaking it all in. Lots and lots of color keeps jumping out @ me...(im sure it will make its way into my new summer shirt collection) and abstractions, as well as, dark moody pieces of art. I stumbled upon this "Metal Sculpture Garden" on NW 2nd ave, that blew me away. The energy and layout of this area, Wynwood, reminds me of Soho NY, in the late 70's early 80's, when it was really growing into its own. Most of the galleries and art collections are in Wynwood and the Design District (+ great antique shops, vintage shops and funky little boutique). Both neighborhoods are next to each other, so you can walk to get around. The *Wynwood Walls (murals painted by artist in/from the Wynwood Art District)...are da bomb,( my camera was on the stupid mode today, soooo i will post some pics tommorrow). Museums are spread out between Downtown, Miami Beach, Wynwood, North Miami and Hollywood. Art Fairs are the name of the game, look-out for them because you can run into one without knowing it,(if it looks like a big block party...yea u want to be there). Oh well got to go...Art party, party, party!
